The suspect charged in the death of a Lincoln man was ruled mentally incompetent to stand trial, according to court documents.Alaric Harden is accused of first-degree murder and use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony in the death of 76-year-old Larry Cole.According to court documents, Harden will be committed to the Lincoln Regional Center for treatment until his disability is removed or further order from the court.Previous coverage: Man now faces murder charge after Lincoln man found dead inside residenceCole was found dead inside a residence near 12th and New Hampshire streets in December 2023, according to authorities.Lincoln police said officers responded to the home for a welfare check on Cole, and found the front door barricaded and a strong smell of natural gas coming from inside the residence.Harden was found inside the residence and was taken to the hospital for natural gas exposure.
